Harken, the call once again resounds from the dry expanse of Cynagua to the far reaches of the Known World.  Send us your most valiant warriors and their inspirational consorts for three days of fighting, revelry, and pageantry.  On the list field, each fighter takes on all comers until only the best remains standing.  From the sidelines, the grace and beauty of the consorts inspires the combatants to unsurpassed feats of chivalry and valor. La Prova Dura celebrates the best of the Society for Creative Anachronism.

Sunday, April 20th, 2008 – La Prova di Amore - The Proof of Love Invitational Tourney.  The gallery will chose the most chivalrous fighters from each field who did not advance to the semi-finals on the previous day.  Those fighters will compete in their consorts’ names for the glory of their consorts.  Invitations to this Tournament will be issued on Saturday.  Authorization cards and Consorts are required for this Tournament.  Memberships are not.

Requests for Fighters:

Heraldry – In keeping with the pageantry for the event, each fighter is requested to have a banner displaying his or her arms.  Also, his or her heraldic theme should extend to surcoats or other persona appropriate attire, shields, and livery for retinue.  Charges need not be displayed on all items, but the heraldic color scheme should be continued throughout.  Fighters are further requested to have one herald/household for invocation.  If you do not have a herald, some will be available for hire.

Letter of Intent – Each fighter is requested to submit a letter of intent to the Letter of Intent list.  This letter will allow the other fighters to train for the challenges that will face them.  It will also let the autocrat plan for the number of fields and support staff needed.  If you are not equal to writing, please still come and fight.  If you are able to put words to paper, please include your name in the subject line for ease of filing.  Previously submitted letters (including from Prova I) are available for Autocrat - Sir Gemini, Viscount DeGrendelusviewing in The Archives.  You need not join the list to post a message or to view the archives (although there will be a small delay while the moderator approves your post).  However, if you would like to receive everyone else’s Letter of Intent please join the Letter of Intent email list.

Weapons All mass weapons shall have constructed heads.  If you have questions about a particular weapon, please contact the autocrat.
