La Prova Dura

This is the truth of all measure.

a test of what is right under Heaven and on ground,

when time will bend to our grip and hold,

by will and suffering makes blood bold,

the strength in word brings fame's renown

and gentle gaze speaks with no sound,

the honor of all to treasure.

What virtue can show our worth?

none alone can bring to gain,

guarded by steel and it's trust,

polish it with care to bay all rust,

stand for your own, your King and Kin

wear honor bout the throat, and nothing in,

to be noble is not won by birth.

And yet all who would reach that end

a Sisyphus by labor and return,

our name to win by deed renown,

or crushed by offense forever bound,

by grace and beauty to behold gaze upon,

giving strength of limb to raise sword from stone,

all is to endure where honor is ours to defend...

but like in his devotion to his most beautiful,

I stand before thee in adoration to thy gaze,

so proud to wear thy favor

and upon the field with all who dream of chivalry

to be thy champion and proclaim my love

to be thy champion and to be worthy...
